Overview

At Libya’s oldest and most prestigious university, located in the city of Benghazi, and driven by unmatched national determination and sky-high ambitions, Khalifa Holding Group—through its subsidiary “Across the World for Contracting and Real Estate Investment”—is reviving the Faculty of Engineering. This comes after decades of neglect and widespread destruction caused by extremist groups. A diverse team is carrying out the work, fully aware of the sensitivity and significance of a faculty whose future graduates will shape Libya’s architectural and engineering landscape.
The project involves rebuilding destroyed facilities from the ground up, while also expanding student capacity through the construction of lecture halls and classrooms equipped with the latest educational and technological tools, all within a modern setting that aligns with current academic and architectural standards.

The scope of work goes even further, as the group is constructing a robust, high-standard infrastructure. Every detail has been meticulously planned, including the implementation of rainwater drainage and sewage systems, and the outfitting of all laboratories, facilities, and classrooms with essential furniture, equipment, and devices to ensure comfort and productivity for both students and faculty.
With a commitment to environmentally friendly and student-oriented design, the group is also creating green spaces, gardens, and a network of primary and secondary roads. Additionally, the project includes the development of a fully integrated facility featuring top-tier restaurants and cafés. It is a noble effort in which the team works to translate every plan, standard, and requirement into reality—laying the foundation for future generations capable of continuing Libya’s journey of reconstruction, development, and prosperity.
