Overview
Khalifa Holding Group contributed to the reconstruction of the city of Derna after it was hit by Hurricane Daniel. The education sector was one of the most important sectors to which the group devoted all its capabilities. Commissioned by the Libyan Development and Reconstruction Fund, the group began restoring, developing and expanding the Al-Nour, Al-Nasr and Al-Manara schools within the city, dividing the work into three continuous phases.
Number of Schools
The first phase consisted of the Group taking over the aforementioned schools, with water and silt reaching the second floor, concrete damage and damage to the electrical network, as well as severe damage to doors, windows, floors and paintwork. The second stage saw the start of work on preparing the sites and removing debris, restoring the building to its concrete structure, and then proceeding with concrete work, plumbing, electrical work, marble installation, and the installation of doors, windows, and interior and exterior paint. The group devoted the third phase of the work to developing the schools through additions and improvements, which included the construction of a new theatre at Al-Nasr School, modifications and expansion of the theatre at Al-Noor School, and the inauguration of a playground for each school with a complete overhaul of its infrastructure.
