Phase Two of Benghazi Seaport Redevelopment Officially Underway
Jul, 19, 2025
Khalifa Holding Group is pleased to announce the official launch of Phase Two of the Benghazi International Seaport Redevelopment Project — a landmark initiative that underscores Libya’s commitment to modernizing its maritime infrastructure and expanding its role in regional and international trade.
Following the successful completion of Phase One, which laid the groundwork for revitalizing port operations, Phase Two marks a major leap forward. This stage includes the expansion and reinforcement of berths, installation of advanced cargo handling systems, and the construction of cutting-edge logistics and warehousing facilities. These enhancements are designed to significantly increase the port’s throughput capacity, streamline logistics operations, and position Benghazi Port as a regional logistics hub capable of serving both local and international markets.
The project is being led by Eber Alalam for General Contracting, a trusted subsidiary of Khalifa Holding Group, known for its excellence in managing large-scale infrastructure works. All activities are progressing according to the planned timeline and are being executed in full compliance with global standards for quality, safety, and environmental responsibility.
Phase Two of the port redevelopment not only reflects Khalifa Holding Group’s strategic vision but also aligns with Libya’s broader economic goals — to diversify the economy, improve trade routes, and enhance logistical capabilities. This project is expected to stimulate job creation, attract investment, and serve as a key enabler of sustainable development across the eastern region and beyond.
As one of the country’s most significant infrastructure projects, the redevelopment of Benghazi Port demonstrates Khalifa Holding Group’s unwavering commitment to driving forward Libya’s transformation
